Consul General Tong Xiaoling Calls on Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia

On May 25, Consul General TONG Xiaoling called on Hon. Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia (BC).

Consul General Tong congratulated Her Honour's assumption as the 30th lieutenant governor of British Columbia. Consul General Tong pointed out that, over the years, China has been having a close cooperative relationship with Canada in trade, technology, culture, and education cooperation. Her Honour has dedicated her career to championing women's equality and social equity. She is looking forward to join hands with Her Honour in the promotion of the understanding and friendship between sino-canadian people through people-to-people exchanges. 2018 is the China-Canada Year of tourism, she would like to invite Her Honour to pay a visit to China.

Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin thanked Consul General Tong for her friendship and kind invitation. Her Honour expressed her interests in Chinese traditional culture and current achievements in economic and social development, and would like to work together with the Chinese Consulate General in Vancouver to promote the good relationship between the British Columbia and China.
