Consul General Yang Shu Attended St. John Ambulance Fundraising Gala

On May 17th, Consul General YANG Shu attended a fundraising gala hosted by St. John Ambulance BC/Yukon.

In his speech, Consul General YANG Shu said that St. John Ambulance, as the humanitarian organization with the longest history in the world, has always been committed to the development of first-aid services, promotion of humanitarian and charitable work, and facilitation of education and training in related fields, making significant contributions to safeguarding the health and safety of people. He was happy to see St. John Ambulance’s prioritizing the growth and capacity building of young members, and wished a fruitful participation of St. John Ambulance BC/Yukon in the 2024 Asia Pacific Youth Competition (APYC) to be held in Hong Kong, China.

The gala was held to raise funds and help the young volunteers of St. John Ambulance to participate in the APYC, which will allow them to deepen exchanges and mutual learning with peers from various countries. About 400 people attended the gala, including the regional heads of St. John Ambulance, officials from the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, representatives from the BC Consular Corps and all walks of life.
