On April 10, Acting Consul General FAN Xiaodong attended the briefing organized by the City of Vancouver.

The Mayor of the City of Vancouver Gregor Robertson introduced in his opening remarks that there are four major priorities for the development of Vancouver, namely, to be the greenest city by 2020, to provide affordable housing, to improve the transportation, and to be an innovative, creative and sustainable city in terms of economic development strategy. Detailed introductions were presented by city managers thereafter.

About 70 representatives from the Consular corps and Vancouver's international partners were present in that briefing.
