Consul General TONG Xiaoling Attends Royal Canadian Navy Holiday Reception

On November 30, Consul General TONG Xiaoling was invited to attend the annual Royal Canadian Navy Community Holiday Reception hosted by Rear Admiral Art McDonald, Commander of Maritime Forces Pacific.

Consul General Tong extended her holiday greetings to Rear Admiral McDonald. She pointed out that military-to-military relationship plays an important role in the strategic relationship between China and Canada. In the past year, the understanding and cooperation between the two navies have been further strengthened with the successful visits to each other's port city by Chinese Navy Task and Canadian Navy frigate. As the new Chinese Consul General in Vancouver, Consul General Tong said she will further improve the friendly working relationship with Rear Admiral McDonald to promote the cooperation between the two militaries so as to enrich the substance of the friendly exchanges between the two countries.

Rear Admiral McDonald expressed his warm welcome to Consul General Tong and appreciated her for attending the event soon after she arrived in Vancouver. He's looking forward to working together with Consul General Tong to further develop the cooperation between Maritime Forces Pacific and the Chinese Consulate General and between the two navies.
