On October 14, a delegation of “student ambassadors” from the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals of China’s Hong Kong SAR visited the Chinese Consulate General in Vancouver. More than 70 people attended, including Tseng Hing Yip, Chairman of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, as well as teacher and student representatives from schools under the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

In his keynote speech, Consul General Fu Fengshan introduced China’s development achievements in the new era, China’s foreign policy, and the progress of China-Canada relations. He encouraged the “student ambassadors” to carry forward the fine tradition of loving the country and loving Hong Kong, make good use of the opportunity of overseas study tours to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, tell China’s story well and spread China’s voice, and strive to become a new force in national development and promoters of China-foreign friendship. Young diplomats from the Consulate General also engaged in dialogue with the students.

In his remarks, Mr. Tseng Hing Yip expressed gratitude to the Consulate General for providing the students with this valuable exchange and learning opportunity and for the thoughtful arrangements. He noted that this visit enhanced Hong Kong students’ sense of national identity and pride, and helped them broaden their knowledge and horizons. The students also performed an a cappella rendition of the song “With Me”, which drew rounds of applause.
