On September 13, Consul General Fu Fengshan attended Canada Teochew Federation 2nd and Canton Chamber of Commerce Canada’s 3rd Board of directors inauguration. Senator Yuen Pau Woo, MP Chak Kwong Au, along with officials from the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, were present at the event. Counsellor Liang Yanmin also participated.

Consul General Fu affirmed that the two associations demonstrate strong unity and cohesion, effectively leveraging the strengths of the overseas Chinese community. Through community driven cooperation, they have advanced China–Canada cooperation in business engagement, cultural exchange, people-to-people ties, and charitable initiatives. Drawing on the nationwide network of Cantonese entrepreneurs, the associations continue to foster greater understanding and respect for China and for Chinese Canadians. He noted that China’s high-quality development and high-level opening-up offer important opportunities for countries worldwide, including Canada, and encouraged the Teochew Federation and Canton Chamber of Commerce to seize these opportunities and achieve new progress.

More than 600 representatives from local overseas Chinese communities and business circles attended the event.
