On September 3, Consul General Fu Fengshan met with Dr. Philip Laird, Vice‑President of Trinity Western University of Canada and author of Through My Eyes: China.

Consul General Fu noted that Dr. Laird has been engaged in China‑Canada educational exchanges for more than three decades and has visited China over one hundred times, travelling across many parts of the country. His new book Through My Eyes: China documents his first‑hand observations accumulated during these numerous trips to China. It presents reflections on China from a Canadian scholar’s perspective and offers a vivid reference for Canadian society to understand China.

Dr. Laird noted that he will continue to follow and introduce China to the public, and commit himself to advancing China‑Canada people‑to‑people exchanges and mutual understanding.

The two sides also exchanged views on Trinity Western University’s cooperation with Chinese institutions. Consul‑ranked Counselor Dong Zhixue was present at the meeting.
