On September 1, Consul General Fu Fengshan met with former Canadian Senator the Honourable Victor Oh.

During the meeting, Consul General Fu noted that, although China and Canada are separated by vast oceans, the friendly exchanges between the two countries enjoy a long history. The story of Norman Bethune, who shared life-and-death moments with the Chinese people, is remembered by generations of Chinese. He stressed that the two sides have no fundamental conflict of interests, but rather a common aspiration for people-to-people friendship and vast opportunities for economic, cultural, and trade cooperation. 

The Honourable Victor Oh spoke positively about the progress in bilateral relations, stating that the bilateral relationship has weathered storms and moved forward overall, and that he is willing to continue caring for and supporting the development of relations between the two countries.
