On August 28, Consul General Fu Fengshan visited Mulgrave School in West Vancouver, where he met with Head of School Craig Davis, Deputy Head of School Rupi Samra-Gynane, and the head of the school’s Chinese program. Education and Culture Counsellor Dong Zhixue accompanied the visit.

Consul General Fu was briefed on the school and its Chinese language program. He commended the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and its excellent campus environment, and spoke highly of its high-quality Chinese language education across all grade levels. He also praised the school’s efforts to enhance students’ Chinese proficiency and interest in learning the language through immersive instruction, a wide range of cultural activities, and study visits to China. He expressed the hope that the two sides would further strengthen ties and create more opportunities for students to learn Chinese, gain a better understanding of China, and engage in exchanges.

During the visit, Consul General Fu and his delegation visited a Chinese language class and interacted with teachers and students to learn about their Chinese studies. He encouraged students across all grade levels to maintain their interest and enthusiasm for learning Chinese and, when opportunities arise, to visit China to experience and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and contemporary China.
