On January 23rd, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Vancouver hosted the 2025 Chinese New Year's Eve Feast Reception.Consul General Yang Shu, together with around 60 guests, including the representative of the British Columbia (BC) government, Parliament Secretary Susie Chant, Senator Yuen Pau Woo, MLA Teresa Wat and Hon Chan, BC First Nation Summit Executive Director Howard Grant, His Worship Mark Sager, Mayor of West Vancouver, His Worship Simon Yu,Mayor of Prince George, and representatives from foreign consular corps and other walks of life attended the event.
Consul General Yang introduced that Chinese culinary culture is rich and diverse, and has become a natural bridge for fostering mutual understanding among nations. Chinese culinary culture believes "Governing a big country is as delicate as frying a small fish", which shows the charm of Chinese traditional culture. The Chinese Consulate General stands ready to work with people from all walks of life in BC and Yukon to promote mutual understanding between the two peoples and the development of relations between the two countries.
A team of renowned Shandong Province Lu cuisine chefs demonstrated their culinary skills, and cultural groups presented wonderful performances,which won the praise of the guests. The guests thanked the Chinese Consulate General for the invitation and exchanged New Year wishes.
