Consul General Yang Shu Attends Inauguration of the New Board of Directors of the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver

On November 9, Consul General Yang Shu attended the inauguration ceremony for the 2024-2026 Board of Directors of the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver, joined by Deputy Consul General Zeng Zhi.

Consul General Yang extended his congratulations to the newly elected board and commended the outgoing board for its contributions. He noted that next year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada, the 30th anniversary of the sister-province relationship between British Columbia and Guangdong, and the 40th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Vancouver and Guangzhou. The upcoming increase in direct flights between China and Canada will further strengthen ties and foster favorable developments in China and Canada relations.

Consul General Yang encouraged the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver to continueplaying an important role within the Greater Vancouver Chinese community, to unite Chinese Canadians in fostering greater understanding and friendship between China and Canada.
