On August 29th, Consul General Yang Shu attended the “Blooming in Guangzhou, Flourishing around World” Canton Fair & Guangzhou Culture and Tourism Promotion Event.

Consul General Yang highlighted that The Canton Fair was  China's longest-running, largest-scale, and most successful comprehensive international trade event. It was Guangzhou city’s  name card, as well as an important window for opening up. China is currently embracing the world with a more open attitude. We welcome everyone to visit Guangzhou during Canton Fair, to feel the developments in China, and explore new opportunities for China-Canada cooperation.

Mr. Yang emphasized that recently Canadian government willfully imposed tariffs on Chinese EVs, it was a typical trade protectionism and politically-led behavior, which was completely detrimental to others and not beneficial to itself. An open China is an important engine for global development and prosperity, and will bring more vitality into the global economy.

More than 100 people from all local sectors participated in this event.
